Eltharion provides a good balance between spell casting and combat prowess. Equipped with the Fangsword and the Helm of Yvresse, Eltharion can slice through the toughest of foes. Combined with the power of his griffon Stormwing, he is perfect for breaking units. A terror causer the griffon can be used to land behind enemy lines and potentially send the enemy running from the battlefield. The Talisman of Hoeth also makes Eltharion a level 2 mage and even if he is too busy in combat to cast magic, the extra dispel dice he grants will be useful in containing the enemy's wizards.
